What: Broach Foundation for Brain Cancer Research sixth annual “Stand Up for Brain Cancer” dinner
Where: River Oaks Country Club
PC Moment: Best-known for his Saturday Night Live hijinks, Kevin Nealon had the sophisticated crowd, at least momentarily, putting the serious issue of brain cancer aside for huge laughs and comedic fun. The evening raised more than $525,000 for brain cancer research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The foundation, established in honor of James Broach who created the non-profit before his death from brain cancer in 2013, has raised more than $4 million over the years.
